Why is it we see a sweet-smelling, luscious, velvety, full bloom, and all-around beautiful rose and we look on it in awe, but when we see the slightly wilted with petals falling off, faded flower we see only the broken ugliness and make sure it doesn't "ruin" our perfect picture? Is one really any better than the other? True, one may be younger, healthier, and more appealing to the eye, but better? For the flower, sure, one may be “better” than the other, but what about humans? God sees beauty in the broken. Psalm 147:3 tells us that "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." A relationship turned to what seems the worse? Financial problems and the bills are stacking up? Maybe it was just a misunderstanding and there is no way you think you can make things right. The trials WILL come; the Bible tells us this. God doesn't try to deceive us into thinking our lives will be perfect once we decide to follow Him. James 1:12 says "Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love Him." What He DOES tell us is that He will be there for us to help and guide us if we would only let Him. God has a reason for everything that happens in your life. Everything. He sees the big picture and we, simply put, can not. One way I remind myself that God is in control is that “God sees what we can’t and knows what we don’t.” God controls everything in the universe. Do you trust that He can take care of your troubles? He can! And will! Just ask! Are there places in your life that seem to be broken? Do you see God working through the brokenness in your life? Spend time with God today and let Him work in you! Keep Smiling Anyway :) {Never Miss a Post! Click here to subscribe and get my posts in your inbox!}
